Envisioning the Silks
When I think of silk, I think of the 90s. Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy's wedding gown by Narciso Rodriguez, or Gwyneth Paltrow in that champagne slip dress in 1996. They looked so effortlessly chic, like they weren’t even trying to be glamourous. Silk comes from a single thread spun by a silkworm during metamorphosis. It is one of the most labor-intensive fibers in the world, which is exactly why it has always been so luxurious. This spring we're launching more patterns in the Eleanor Shirt, Eleanor Shirtdress, and pants. I love pieces that make getting dressed easier. Silk does that more than almost anything.
